Ewoks: The Battle for Endor movie review

You’ve got to give this M4TV sequel one thing: it doesn’t shy away from a bit of the old emotional brutality as the opening wipes out Cindel’s entire family (rendering the events of the first film frustratingly pointless).

The shift in focus to Wicket makes sense but why they thought Aubree Miller’s Cindel was the breakout star of Caravan of Courage I don’t know.

Star Wars has arguably always been more fantasy than science fiction but this is an out-and-out magic and sorcery story, the likes of which Lucas would perfect a few years later in Willow.

The budget for this must have been next to nothing. Teek’s facial prosthetics are as rigid as Gwildor’s in Masters of the Universe whilst big bad Terak is undoubtedly outfitted in a cast-off PotA costume.

Anyone in denial that Star Wars is for kids need look no further that this for proof…

“I have a bad feeling about this…”
